Experimental Research Methodology

Thesis

The study focused in utilizing different fish protein source in formulation of diets for Carp Fingerlings. Three fish meals were utilized such as commercial fishmeal (Treatment I) Janitor fish fishmeal (Treatment II) and knife fish fishmeal (Treatment III). In terms of weight gain Treatment II attained 10.9g, followed by Treatment III with 9.2g and Treatment I with 8.5g. Highest length gain was registered in Treatment I with 2.5cm followed by Treatment II and Treatment III 2.4cm and 2.3cm, consecutively. Survival rates were attained at 82.2%, 80% and 75.5% by Treatment II, Treatment I and Treatment III respectively. FCR registered at 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 for Treatment II, Treatment I and Treatment III, respectively. Tests for significance using Analysis of Variance showed no significant difference among the Treatment with respect to weight, length, survivals and FCR.
