ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of prefect of discipline handling adolescent smokers in Sampaloc National High School. The purpose of this study was to know how prefect of discipline affects adolescent smokers. The researchers used the descriptive research which used survey, random sampling, questionnaire checklist, tabulation, analysis and interpretation of the collected data. It is purposively conducted at Sampaloc National High School to justify the adolescent smokers of Sampaloc National ient findings of the study were: majority of the respondents belong to the age bracket of 16-17 years old, there are more male smokers than female at the adolescent period and half of the respondents are grade 11 who tried smoking and become used to doing it. Most of the respondents belong to the 15,000. Majority of the respondents reveal that they are smoking regularly and more than half of them smoke 2-3 times a day, they started smoking during their Grade 7 and 8. Most of them have been smokers for a year and more. Majority of the respondent influence by the family member who also smoke. Their cause of smoking is attributed by problem and peer influenced result of the study, it was concluded that the perceived prefect of discipline to be helpful. The effectiveness of prefect of discipline in handling adolescent smokers with respect to social, behavioral and emotional aspects, vary in terms of their personal characteristics. Based on the aforementioned conclusions, the following recommendations were hereby given by the researchers: The school through the prefect of discipline may continue the programs for guidance counseling to help the student correct their misbehaviors. The school may conduct counseling session at least once a month for their own awareness and undertanding. In every classroom adviser should have an activity which divert the attention of the students toward important matters. Studies along this area using other variables may be conducted.
