520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop a multi-purpose underchassis support. It also aimed to develop the device and evaluated it in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, functionality and durability. It also aimed to determine the significance difference of the evaluation made by the experts and end-users in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, functionality and durability. A researcher-made questionnaire checklist was developed and validated to evaluate the acceptability of the unit in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, functionality, and durability. Responses were gathered from the five (5) professors in the college of industrial technology and five (5) mechanic form W.A.T autoshop as experts, and user's twenty (20) students from the bachelor of technology major in Automotive technology as end-users of the study. The data gathered in the study were statistically treated using qualitative description, weighted mean and t-test. On the usefulness of the device, the experts got an average weighted mean of 4.22 which was verbally interpreted as "very much accepted", while the end-users evaluation got an average weighted mean of 4.54 which was verbally interpreted "very much accepted". On the safety and maintenance of the device, the experts got an average weighted mean of 4.48 which was verbally interpreted "very much accepted", while the end-users evaluation got an average weighted mean of 4.53 which was verbally interpreted as "very much accepted". On the functionality of the device, the experts got an average weighted mean of 4.42 which was verbally interpreted as "very much accepted", while the end-users evaluation got an average weighted mean of 4.59 which was verbally interpreted "very much accepted". On the durability of the device, the experts got an average weighted mean of 4.46 which was verbally interpreted as "very much accepted", while the end-users evaluation got an average weighted mean of 4.69 which was verbally interpreted "very much accepted". On the significant difference, the computed t-value in all aspect is less than the tabulated t-value which mean the null hypothesis is accepted and is not significant/ This means that the all aspects presented in the evaluation of the Multi-purpose underchassis support as perceived by the two groups of respondents is acceptable in general, therefore the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference is accepted. It was concluded that there was no significant difference on the level of acceptability of the multi-purpose underchassis support by the experts and end-users in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, functionality and durability. Based on the result of the study, it was recommended that the hydraulic jack should be welded to easily repair when its damage; the two bearing of a caster wheel could be welded to avoid the device moving in any direction; paint should be applied, first the epoxy primer paint before spraying paint.
