520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study focused on the skills acquired in Shipboard Training Program by Hotel and Restaurant Management students at University of Rizal System, Morong Campus during the school year 2016-2017. The researchers determined the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex and year level and the skills acquired in shipboard training by the hotel and restaurant management students with respect to front office, food and beverages, kitchen/galley, housekeeping and safety awareness. The researchers used questionnaire-checklist and interview to determine the skills are acquired in shipboard training program. There were fifteen (15) students/respondents who belong to age bracket of 19-21 with 75 percentage, 4 respondents were in the age bracket of 22 with 20 percent and 1 respondent with 5 percent, it shows that most of the respondents were in the legal age when they took their supervised industrial training (SIT). There were more fourth year respondents; total of 11 compared to female total of 9. Male respondents ranked first with percentage of 55 and female ranked second with percentage of 45. The number of respondents in terms of gender is almost equally parted. Based on the analysis and interpretation, it is hereby summarized that with respect to food and beverages, housekeeping and safety awareness were evaluated by the respondents as "very much acquired". Likewise, with respect to front office and kitchen/galley, these were evaluated as "much acquired". It was concluded that with respect to front office, food and beverages, galley/kitchen, housekeeping and safety awareness show no significant difference on the skills Acquired by the HRM students in Shipboard Training Program in terms of age and sex, both male and female trainees performed duties and responsibility in operational in hospitality industry, and age is not barrier to perform well in their training or workplace. And in terms of year level, it was found out that with respect to front office and kitchen/galley there is significant difference on the skills acquired by the students whereas with respect to food and beverages, housekeeping and safety awareness the null hypothesis is failed to reject, therefore there is no significant difference on the skills acquired by the students/respondents. It is also recommended that the students need to focus on every subject in Hotel and Restaurant Management to ensure the knowledge and enhance the skills they acquire in shipboard training program on this kind of training that the school required, if they want to work at cruise ship, this training helps them to understand some of the work in cruise line and encourage the students to take the shipboard training program.
