Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled "Thinking Skills and Decision-making ability of Guidance and Counseling Students" aimed to determine the thinking skills and decision making ability of guidance and counselling students. The subject of this study were the one hundred fifty (150) guidance and counselling students from third year to fourth year in University of Rizal System, Morong Campus, as the setting of the study. The subject was described using their profile such as sex, age, year level, religion and socio-economic status. They also served as the respondents, since the researchers do believed that they can give the needed information for the success of this study. This study is limited to the guidance and counselling students of College of Science. The study used the descriptive method of research utilizing the researcher-made questionnaire checklist validated by the experts and administered to the respondents to gather the needed data. For the analysis and interpretation of data, the following statistical treatments are considered. To determine the profile of the respondents in terms of sex, age, year level, religion and socio-economic status, frequency, percentage and rank distribution was used. to determine the level of thinking skills of the respondents in terms of analytical, critical and creative, mean was applied. To determine the level of decision-making ability of the respondents in terms of psychological, cognitive, normative, and logical, mean was applied. To find the significant difference on the thinking skills of the respondents with respect to different factors in terms of their profile. One Way Analysis of Variance was employed. And lastly, to find the significant relationship of thinking skills and decision making ability of the respondents with respect to the different factors in terms of their profile, Pearson-r was utilized. Based on the summary of findings, the following conclusions are cited. The respondents are mostly female, belong to the bracket of 19 and 20, who are Roman Catholic with an average socio-economic status. The level of thinking skills of the respondents is high particularly on the analytical, critical and creative aspects. There is high decision-making ability among guidance and counselling students specifically in psychological, cognitive, normative and logical decision0making. The profile of the respondents does not significantly affect their thinking skills. The decision-making ability of the guidance and counselling students is not affected by their profile. Thinking skills and decision-making ability of the guidance and counselling students have correlation or are related. Based on the findings and conclusions derived, the following recommendations are hereby offered. Conduct seminar-workshop to develop the thinking skills of College Students. Integration of decision-making activities in the subject is recommended. Parallel study may be conducted considering other variables.
