Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Study entitled the gender differences and social media personality of selected college students was conducted in the University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal during the school year 2014-2015. The study used the descriptive methods of research specifically survey method utilizing the researcher-made questionnaire checklist validated by the experts before its administration to the respondents. The respondents of the study were the selected students from different colleges of University of Rizal System Morong and were chosen through random sampling. The aspects such as entertainment, information gathering and building relationship were used to identify the extent of gender differences on the use of social media. The aspects such as extraversion, neuroticism, agreebleness, conscientiousness and openness to experience were used to determine the extent of the social media personality of the respondents on the use of social media. The data were using the computed mean in determining the extent of gender differences and social media personality of the respondents. Pearson analysis was used to find out the significant relationship on the social media personality among male and female respondents. It was found out that male has higher degree in entertainment and information gathering in using social media while female on the other hand has higher degree in building relationship than male. In addition to this, in using social media, respondents sometimes show extraverted personality, neurotic tendencies and agreebleness. They are often conscientious and open to new experiences. Moreover, in the male category, there is a significant relationship between social media personality with respect to entertainment and information gathering. Same with building relationship, there is also significant relationship in the personality except neuroticism. In comparison to female category, there is a significant relationship between the social media personality and the use of social media. Based from the results of the study, it was recommended that students must learn how to use social media wisely. They must know the pros and cons of their actions in using social media. They must always be aware to every person that they will interact using social media especially those they don't know personality. They must be sure that the information they will gather online are reliable. Parents and relevant others should guide their children in using social media. Other related studies of social media must be conducted.
