Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study was conducted in Morong National High School in Morong, Rizal. The study utilized the descriptive method using researcher-made questionnaire checklist, validated and was used as the instrument in gathering data. The data gathered were statistically treated according to the specific problems of the study. To validate the data gathered, the following statistical treatment was used by the researcher. To determine the extent of social anxiety and the extent of gender differences of the high school students of Morong National High School, mean was used. To determine the relationship of gender differences and social anxiety of adolescents students of Morong National High School, correlation coefficient was used which measures the strength and direction of a linear association between two variables. The findings and conclusion showed that family revealed that the respondents feel embarrassed going to school without allowance given by their parents. School revealed that the respondents make excuses to avoid attending school when there is a school activity/programs that require them to perform. Peers reveal that the respondents feel shortness of breath and tense when they must to speak to their friends. Community revealed that the respondents feel shy in the situations which force them to be sociable like going to parties and social gatherings in their community. Adolescents encountered or feel so much anxious about their performance in school and on their respective peers. Roles revealed that the respondents think that male should do manual works such as construction and repair while females do domestic chores like cooking, cleaning and washing. Characteristics revealed that the respondents thought that males should be gentleman and females are expected to be refined and modest in action. Attitude revealed that the respondents think that males are expected to be dominant and independent while females are to be submissive and dependent. and Lastly, Gender differences with respect to attitudes to significantly correlates to social anxiety in terms of family and with no siginificant correlation in terms of school, peers and community. On the basis of other foregoing findings and conclusion, the researchers offered the following recommendations. Adolescents should establish a close relationship to their support groups like in school, peers and also the community. Not only adolescents but also family members, teachers, students and community member must be aware on the information and knowledge on how to lessen and cope up anxiety in different social situation. Further research on social anxiety may be conducted considering other variables to extend the topic in the future studies.
