Summary, etc EXCEUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of social services implemented by municipal social welfare and development in selected towns in Rizal for the school year 2015-2016. The subjects of the study are the beneficiaries of social services in selected municipalities in Rizal. The respondents of the study were described according to age, sex, educational, monthly family income and marital status. The respondents were chosen through cluster and random sampling techniques. In order to determine the effectiveness of services, researches was used questionnaire checklist as a tool for gathering the needed data. The respondents were selected through fish bowl method that resulted to 15 respondents in Tanay, 15 respondents in Baras, 14 respondents in Morong, 24 respondents in Cardona, and 15 respondents in Binangonan for a total of 83 respondents. This study was limited to the beneficiaries of services in selected municipalities in Rizal. The data gathered in the study will be treated with the use of the following statistical treatment: To determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, educational attainment, monthly family income and marital status and municipality of the respondents frequency, percentage and rank distribution was used. To know the effectiveness of social services implemented in selected municipalities in Rizal as perceived by the beneficiary respondents, weighted mean was utilized. To know if there is a significant difference on the assessment of the effectiveness of services of DSWD as perceived by the respondents with respects to different aspects in terms of their profile; one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied. The beneficiary respondents among the selected municipalities are mostly females belong to the ages 61 & above and 36-40. In terms of sex, out of 83 respondents, 67 or 80.7 percent are female. In terms of educational attainment, out of 83 respondents, 38 or 45.8 percent are secondary graduates. In terms of monthly family income, out of 83 respondents, 81 or 97.6 has an estimated monthly family income of 14,999 & below. In terms of marital status, out of 83 respondents, 57 or 68.7 percent are married. In terms of municipality, out of 83 respondents, 24 or 28.9 percent are from the municipality of Cardona. The selected services were excellently implemented by MSWD in selected towns in Rizal with repect to pantawid pamilyang Pilipino program, solo parent, social pension, emergency assistance and pre-marriage counseling. However, with respect to Philhealth, the result found very satisfactory. Sex, educational attainment, marital status and municipality of respondents have significant difference on the extent of effectiveness of social services with respect to pantawid pamilyang Pilipino program, solo parent, social pension, emergency assistance and pre-marriage counseling. Based from the summary of findings and conclusions drawn, the following recommendations are hereby offered. The DSWD officer should have a continuous system for monitoring and evaluation of each social services in each Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices. There is a need to give more attention with respect to philhealth. And a parallel study using a wide or larger sample of respondents form various municipalities in the Province of Rizal may be conducted, separating the 4P's from the other beneficiaries to verify the results.
