Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study was conducted to determine the extent of utilization of assessment tools in teaching preschoolers in selected public elementary schools in Binangonan, Rizal during the School Year 2014-2015. The study used the descriptive method of research utilizing the researchers made questionnaire checklist that was validated by the panel members to gather necessary data with mean, standard deviation and independent t-test as a statistical treatment. It sought to answer the extent of utilization of assessment tools in teaching preschoolers with respect to written-response instrument with a verbal interpretation of often used in utilization, performance test and oral questioning. The study found out that on the extent of the utilization of the assessment tools in teaching preschoolers, teacher-respondents in mainland and island schools always utilized performance test in assessing pupil's level of learning. Also, it was found out that there is no significant difference on the extent of utilization of the assessment tools for preschoolers with respect to written-response instrument. It is concluded that preschool teachers in the mainland and island schools preferred to utilize performance test in assessing pupils' learning and there is significant difference on their evaluation on the extent utilization of assessment tool particularly the use of written-response instrument. Based on the findings and conclusions, it is recommended to encourage preschool teachers to use variety of assessment tools in order to monitor the pupils' level of learning and to conduct parallel study utilizing other variables in assessing preschoolers' performance in school.
