Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to determine if there is a relationship between the Coping Mechanisms of Detainees and their Families of BJMP in Tanay, Rizal. This was also done to prove that the coping mechanisms used by the family with respect to respondents profile such as age, sex, education attainment, monthly family income, occupation and religion. The respondents are the selected detainees and their families. Covered by this study were 20 respondents. This study made use of the descriptive method and survey method of research utilizing the researchers made questionnaire checklist as the main tool to gather the needed information or data. Frequency percentage, weighted mean and one analysis of variance or ANOVA, the statistical tool in the line with the study. The collected data were treated interpreted and summarized presentation and comprehensive findings of the study. Based on the summary of findings, the following conclusions were drawn. In terms of age, out of 20 respondents, age 33-37 with a frequency of 7 or 35.0 percent. In terms of sex, out of 20 respondents, in female with a frequency of 10 or 50.0 percent and male with a frequency of 10 of 50.0 percent. In terms of religion, out of 20 respondents, in Roman Catholic with a frequency of 17 or 85.0 percent. In terms of occupation, out of 20 respondents, none occupation with a frequency of 11 or 55.0 percent. Most of the respondents are in their middle thirties, equal member of male and female, high school graduate, Roman Catholic with monthly income of 4,999 and below and with different low income jobs. The coping mechanisms of detainees and their family member is always on spiritual aspect and after on personal, emotional and social. The profile of the respondents are not contributory to the coping mechanisms. Based from the summary of findings and conclusions drawn, the following recommendations are hereby offered: BJMP is encouraged to conduct programs such as Family Day or other related activity to strengthen family relationship. Intensify livelihood programs for the detainees to earn for their families. Parallel studies is encourage considering related variables.
