EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study was conducted to determine the acceptability of the Special Education for Elementary Mathematics (SEEMs). It was undertaken at the University of Rizal System-Morong during school year 2016-2017. The respondents of the study were the Four (8) teachers of SPED, Four (8) Hearing Impaired (HI) students in Grade 1 and thirteen (13) teachers of Grade 1 in regular class in Maybancal Elementary School, Binangonan Elementary school and Teresa Elementary school. The study used the descriptive developmental method of research, utilizing the modifies questionnaire checklist from Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (IEEE) as the main the tool in gathering the necessarily data and information to attain the desires evaluation of the acceptability of Special Education for Elementary Mathematics (SEEMs). In developing the program, Visual Basic 6.0, Microsoft office Access and Adobe Photoshop CS6 were used. To determine the Level of Acceptability in terms of Accuracy, Applicability, User-Friendliness, Workability, Completeness, Portability, Modifiability and Clarity, weighted mean was used in the evaluation of the program. Independent T-test was used to determine the significance difference on the perception of the groups of respondents. It was found that the developed program was verbally interpreted as "Very Much Accepted" by the students and teachers with General Average Mean of 4.27 and 4.59 respectively and acquired an Overall General Average Mean of 4.50 with verbal interpretation of "Very Much Accepted"/ It was found out that there was no significant difference that existed on the perception of the two groups of respondents in terms of Accuracy, Applicability, User-friendliness, Workability, Completeness, Portability, modifiability and clarity. It was recommended that follow up study of the developed program to make it highly acceptable not only for the grade 1 hearing-impaired (HI) students but also to all grade levels and all kind of disabilities in Maybancal Elementary School, Binangonan Elementary School and Teresa Elementary School SPED Center as a whole. |
