Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: As source for producing electricity dwindles and the demand for these resources increases along with the population growth, the focus was shifted toward non-conventional ways in generating electricity. The utilization of this became more important in lessening the consumption of limited resources. This study showed the optimization and utilization of the use of kinetic energy with the use of industrial bumps. By integrating the principle of conservation of energy to the system, the tapped kinetic energy was transformed into electrical energy. The goal of this study was to use the advancement of technology to make power generation more sustainable and ecological. The study intended to determine the mathematical model for the optimum viable design of the power generating humps, which utilized the wasted kinetic energy, which yielded the maximum brake power output under the defined set and process constraints using Genetic Algorithm (GA). The simulated values for the Road Power Generation (RPG) through the use of speed breakers resulted to a brake power output of 89 watts per passing of car or .12 hp when converted which was proven to be much more than that of the other studies related to this research. The simulated result has no negative effect in the stability the whole model because it was already limited by the predefined set of economic and process constraints. The study is proven beneficial not only in sustaining the scarce power source without producing pollutant emissions but as to investors ready to take this study as a project for the return of investments are profitable in the long run.
