Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Design of Lightweight Detachable Houses for Evacuees came up to an idea of designing and enhancing "lightweight houses" for disaster evacuees. The researchers believed that the developing and promoting this type of structure, many people especially the evacuees will be directly benefited on this. This is the reason why the researchers insisted to develop these lightweight houses as answer to problems relating to poor evacuation centers in the country. The researchers also believed in the power of innovation with creativity in designing lightweight houses using locally available materials. Moreover, the proposed study, when implemented, could somehow lessen the burden in each disaster victims by providing them comfortable, easy to build momentary living quarters as they prepare to rise again in these times of downfall. The Design of Lightweight Detachable Houses for Evacuees considered the type of materials to be used in the design so that when implemented, the output will be as light as possible without compromising its ability to resist loadings. The study used descriptive and developmental research method. Also, the researchers made questionnaire checklist to determine the acceptability of the design of lightweight detachable houses for evacuees in terms of design, capacity, usefulness and safety and maintenance. The design was evaluated using 5- point scale and corresponding verbal interpretations were used to interpret the corresponding evaluation made by the respondents. Design of Lightweight Detachable Houses for Evacuees in terms of Design Capacity, Usefulness and Safety and Maintenance as evaluated by respondents consisting of five civil engineers and twenty victims of calamity, specifically, typhoon. In determining the design level of acceptability, the Design of Lightweight Detachable Houses for Evacuees, earned a final score of 3.85 from experts and 4.11 from the evacuees both verbally interpreted as "Much Accepted"., Respondents agreed that the Design of Lightweight Detachable Houses for Evacuees is "Much Accepted" in terms of Design with 3.75 average score from Civil Engineers and 4.05 from evacuees. When speaking its Capacity, the design is said to be "Much Accepted" as reflected by the evaluations done. Numerically, 3.5 was the average given by the Civil Engineers while 4.11 was the average provided by the evacuees. This summary of findings led the researchers to conclusions affirming that the well-made design of lightweight houses for evacuees had materials which are locally available. The design of Lightweight Detachable Houses for Evacuees was evaluated as "Much Accepted" for both Civil Engineers and evacuees after consolidation of data gathered. It is therefore concluded that the design of Lightweight Detachable Houses for Evacuees is much accepted in terms of Design, Usefulness, Functionality and Safety and Maintenance. And finally, from the conclusion made, several recommendation were drawn: First, it is highly recommended to implement the design of Lightweight houses for evacuees. The need for more systematized evacuation centers should be one of the top priorities of the government. Second, the selection of lighter materials is also suggested. Third, the researchers also recommended to lessen the assembly time by making the design easier to bring parts together. Lastly, it is highly suggested to incorporate the use of temporary power supply in order for the evacuees to have source of information through radio in midst of calamity.
