520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled Auto-Shutdown Cellphone Charger aimed to develop and construct a device that can be used by cellphone owners, out of locally available materials. Specifically, it aimed to design and construct a charger that avoids cellphone batteries from damaging due to overcharging. Perform try out and revising are being done as part of the process. To determine the performance of the device, voltage output, current rating and charging time was used as its parameters. It also determined the acceptability of the device in terms of usefulness, functionality, safety features and maintenance. Testing of significant difference on the level of acceptability between the cellphone charger. The researchers utilized a research instrument or evaluation sheet to determine the acceptability of Auto-Shutdown Cellphone Charger. The experts in the Electronics Technology of College of Industrial Technology validated the research instrument. The respondents provided pertinent information crucial to the completion of this study. The results were tallied and computed for analysis. The group of respondents who tested the acceptability of the project was consist of twenty (20) end-users and experts who compared the Auto-shutdown Cellphone Charger to existing cellphone charger in terms of usefulness, functionality, safety features and maintenance, it obtained "Extremely Accepted' (EA) which means that it meets the demand of the respondents. In general, the acceptability of the project as evaluated by the respondents obtained a verbal interpretation of extremely accepted having a general average weighted mean of 4.81 and 4.69 respectively. The Auto-Shutdown Cellphone Charger was constructed and developed out of locally available and replaceable materials. The project was extremely accepted as evaluated by the respondents. The computed T-value in terms of usefulness is 0.0110 is less than the tabulated of 1.729 with the 19 degree of freedom at 0.05 level of significance. For the functionality, the computed t-value is 0.0305 is less than the tabulated of 1.729 with the degree of freedom at 0.05 level of significance. For the safety features, the computed t-value is 0.0255 is less than the tabulated of 1.729 with 19 degree of freedom at 0.05 level of significance. For the maintenance, the computed t-value is 0.0200 is less than the tabulated of 1.729 with the 19 degree of freedom at 0.05 level of significance. Therefore the overall null hypothesis is accepted and its verbal interpretation is not significant. Based on the summary of findings, as to the acceptability of the Auto-shutdown Cellphone Charger in terms of usefulness, functionality, safety features and maintenance, it was concluded that there is no significant difference on the level of acceptability of the device as perceived by the experts and end users since the computed t-value is less than tabulated t-value at 0.05 level of significance. The following recommendations were offered based on the formulated findings and conclusion. To improve the performance and appearance of the project, further study should be used in able to charge high-ampere mobile phones like Samsung and Cherry mobile phone. Specification and proper placement of each component should be considered in order to attain maximum utilization. Training institution should support the students in constructing and developing the device for better output. |
