Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to develop a Hydro-Electric Power Plant Simulation Model in Physics for Grade 9 students and determine its effectiveness as an instructional material in electricity and magnetism. This was conducted at Tanay East National High School during the school year 2016-2017. The developed simulation model featured the process of how hydro-electric power plant works to be able to motivate, engage and help students to easily understand lessons in physics under electricity and magnetism. The study used experimental and control group of respondents. Twenty (20) validated researcher-made test items were utilized to determine the effect or increase in the level of performance of students as they were engaged and exposed to the developed instructional material in Physics. In determining the level of acceptability of the developed Hydro-Electric Power Plant Simulation Model, mean and standard deviation were used. In determining the level of performance of the experimental and the control group as revealed into their pretest and posttest score results with respect to the different topics, dependent t-test was used. To determine if there's a significant difference on the level of performance of both the experimental and control group as revealed in the posttest scores with respect to the topics, independent t-test was used. To determine the level of effectiveness of the developed Hydro-Electric Power Plant Simulation Model in Physics for Grade 9, mean percentage increase was utilized. The instructional material in the level of acceptability is very much acceptable in terms of design, usability and safety and maintenance as revealed by the expert's evaluation result answered by some experts who are teachers and professors in the field of science: Physics, Electronics and Electrical. It was found out that in terms of power generation, the level of performance of the control group in the pretest was satisfactory and in the posttest was very satisfactory. While in the posttest was very satisfactory. In terms of power transmission, the level of performance of the control group in pretest was satisfactory and in posttest was outstanding. The performance of the experimental group in the pretest was fairly satisfactory and in the posttest it was found very satisfactory. Lastly, in terms of power distribution, the level of performance of the control group in the pretest was satisfactory and in the posttest was satisfactory. In the experimental group in the pretest was fairly satisfactory and in the posttest was satisfactory. It was also found that there is a significant difference on the level of performance of the control group in the pretest and posttest result on the topics power generation and power transmission but there is no significant difference on the topic power distribution. There is a significant difference on the level of performance of the experimental group in pretest and posttest result with respect to the different topics. As to the significant difference on the level of performance of the control group and experimental group as revealed by the posttest result, it was found that there is no significant difference on the level of performance of the control and experimental group in the posttest on the different topics such as power generation, power transmission and power distribution. Lastly, it was found that with respect to the topics power generation and power distribution the level of effectiveness are both moderately effective while on the topic power transmission the level of effectiveness are both moderately effective while on the topic power transmission the level of effectiveness is not effective. The study therefore concluded that the Hydro-Electric Power Plant Simulation Model as an instructional material is moderately effective in teaching the topics power generation distribution and that the students who were exposed to the developed simulation model performed similarly to those who were not exposed to it.
