520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study entry pass and issuance of certificate system through fingerprint identification for computer engineering students was conducted primarily to develop and design a device that could substitute the traditional way of logging in and out that could perform efficiently and to evaluate the level of acceptability of the device in terms of functionality, maintainability, performance efficiency, portability and security. The researchers used developmental descriptive methods of research in conducting the study. The study conducted at the University of Rizal System-Morong Campus during the school year 2019-2020 and was tested on the same field. The researchers used modified questionnaire checklist as an instrument to measure the acceptability of the developed device. Sixty0five (65) respondents consisting of five experts, sixty students from the college of engineering, computer engineering program-Morong Campus. The device was evaluated by the experts because their specialization matters for further development and improvement of the device, its operations, functions, and main purpose. The device is consisting of an automatics voltage regulator (avr), mouse, keyboard, monitor, system unit (cpu), printer and fingerprint scanner sensor. The fingerprint sensor for the identification of student's attendance as well as for automatic printing certificates. The association of concerned computer engineering students (ACCESS) officers granted the certificated to the students on every end of the event. Also, the certificate indicated how many hours have they rendered on the activity, seminar or workshops. The main focus of the study was the development of a biometrics device that might prevent improper application of the system. The summary of findings shows the result of acceptability in terms of functionality, maintainability, performance efficiency, portability and security as perceived by the respondents. Generally, the device has an average weighted mean of 4.79 and verbally interpreted as very much acceptable. In conclusion, the device was developed based on its functions and design. It works more efficient than the traditional way of logging in and out for it records the exact time in and out of every student and also includes the hours rendered of students. The future researchers may further design and develop the device on the acceptability of the study in order to become more efficient to its purpose. Refining the device hardware may further redesign the system more elegantly.
