Dissertation note: Thesis BS Fisheries University of Rizal System. Cardona 2019 Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the response of Tilapia fed by two treatment using aquaponics system in tank culture. The study was conducted at the University of Rizal System at the old building of Cardona Campus on November 23, 2018 to January 3, 2019. The location for ideal for the researchers to eliminate external factors. Aquaponics system were used in this study, consisting of two (2) treatments and three (3) replicates. The treatments were two aquaponics set-up; one using chicken manure based feed and the other will have hog manure- based as feed to tilapia. These treatment were used to compare the effects of the two manure-based feeds on the growth of tilapia fingerlings and B. chinensis in aquaponics set-up. These two treatments were replicated three times. The experiment was conducted for the duration of 45 days until such time that pechay attained marketable size. The growth of Nile tilapia and pechay were monitored on weekly basis. Increase in weight and length of tilapia and weight gained by pechay were determined and recorded accordingly. At the end of the experiment, FCR was also be computed. The researchers concluded that aquaponics system on culturing can affect the growth performance and survival rate of Oreochromis niloticus (Nile tilapia) fingerlings. And also helps to lessen the cost of feed, water quality and the number of fish pen in the Lake.
