Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Computer Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled Laboratory Training Board in Microcontroller Unit (MCU) focuses on the knowledge of using microcontrollers that are necessary for engineering students since it would help them build working design programs and simulation of modules which are normally required in related subjects conducted in URS Morong SY 2017-2018. The main objective of the design was to develop laboratory training board for microcontroller using Arduino Uno. The developed laboratory training board has a motor control, serial LCD display and other modules. The researchers used the descriptive and developmental research design hence; it aims to develop a Laboratory Training Board. Using the descriptive method in the study, the researchers used a questionnaire checklist to determine the level of acceptability of the device in terms of accuracy, functionality, reliability, user-friendliness, workability, safety and maintenance. In modern technology teaching methods, the researchers would develop a Laboratory training board in microcontroller unit (MCU). The respondents of the study were the selected instructors in Electronics and Computer programming and Computer Engineering students of the University of Rizal System to secure that they are all familiar with the laboratory board. Likewise, evaluations of the laboratory training board were made by the selected instructors and CpE students after performing the experiments. The functionality and accuracy of the device got the highest rank with an average weighted mean of 4.76, followed by the workability of the device with an average weighted mean of 4.69, next the safety and maintenance that resulted to a weighted mean of 4.65. Lastly, the user-friendliness and reliability with an average weighted mean of 4.6, where all of the items are verbally interpreted as strongly acceptable. Therefore, the device got an average weighted mean of 4.68 verbally interpreted as strongly acceptable. The results on the evaluation of the instructors and CpE Students showed that they are confident in applying the knowledge that they have learned from the laboratory training board in microcontroller unit using Arduino Uno. Based on the summary of design result, the following conclusion were established: the Developed Laboratory Training Board in Microcontroller Unit was found to be generally accepted in terms of design, functionality, reliability, user-friendliness, workability, safety and maintenance as evaluated by the respondents; from the results gathered, the researchers concluded that the Laboratory Training Board in Microcontroller Unit (MCU) were successfully developed. Based on the results of the research study, the researchers came up with the following recommendations; further studies of the device to test the effectiveness, functionality, safety and maintenance; the developed device is recommended to use for instructional materials purpose.
