Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled "Biometric Fingerprint Motorcycle Lock Device" aimed to create a device for the security of motorcycle that would introduce the use of biometric fingerprint reader device. The study was conducted primarily to lessen the number of motornapping incidents on our country. This aimed to develop a Biometric Fingerprint Motorcycle Lock Device out of locally available materials. During the design proper, the researchers constructed and developed the device assisted by an expert. After the construction, initial testing and series of trials was made to check if there are some adjustments and corrections needed to complete the project device. To determine the level of acceptability in terms of accuracy, applicability, workability, safety and maintenance and user-friendliness, weighted mean was used. In this particular study, the researchers used questionnaire-checklist as instrument to measure the acceptability of the developed Biometric Fingerprint Motorcycle Lock Device. Date were gathered from 10 experts and 10 students, a total of 20 respondents. The researchers chose these respondents because their specialization on this matter clearly understands all the operations and purposes of the said device. The researchers used the descriptive-evaluative and developmental methods of research in gathering data and information to determine the level of acceptability of the Biometric Fingerprint Motorcycle Lock Device. Based on the evaluation conducted by the researchers, the level of acceptability in terms of accuracy, applicability, workability, safety and maintenance and user-friendliness were verbally interpreted as extremely acceptable as perceived by the experts and students, therefore the developed device was considered functional as it performed the desired tasks and functions needed.
