Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled LIGHTNING SYSTEM WITH CHARGING FEATURE OF SERVICE BOAT USING RENEWABLE ENERGY was conducted primarily to store electrical energy from the rotating motion created by the motor of the service boat during the school year 2017-2018. It designed to develop a prototype device to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy through rotating motion of the service boat's motor. The study made use of the developmental and experimental methods of research since this focused to come up with a Lightning System with Charging Feature of Service Boat using Renewable Energy. To determine the level of acceptability of the developed system in terms of design, efficiency, user-friendliness, durability, eco-friendliness, functionality, a questionnaire checklist was administered to the boatman and passenger-respondents. There were Experts (Boatman/Technician/Engineers), passengers/End-users and Students who were considered as respondents to evaluate the device. To answer the researche objectives-design, efficiency, user-friendliness, durability, eco-friendliness, and functionality were used as variables. The researchers computed the total watts produced by the alternator for an hour to see how much energy is converted during the testing. The collected energy by the device was used to a lightning system using sensors and USB charging station requiring small amount of energy. Furthermore, based from the findings, the study concluded that the Lightning System with Charging feature of service boat using renewable energy can be a good source of alternative energy that can be used to low-powered applications, the device produced energy was used in functional applications by means of lightning system and a charging feature. And the lightning system with charging feature of service boat using renewable energy was found to be Highly Acceptable as evaluated by the experts, students and passengers/end-users. For future researchers, it is recommended provide an LCD on the device for the display of the amount of energy of the battery. The researchers should develop this device to come up with a more effective and powerful device that will supply other appliances that consumes higher amount of energy, they should adopt the principle of load balancing in the electric charge of the batteries. And future researchers should conduct further design on the acceptability of the study to be able to come up with another effective output of the whole system.
