Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The primary objective of the study is to develop an electronic controlled mixing system for concrete components that will automatically calculate the volume of water, cement, sand and aggregates for a uniform and accurate proportion of different classes of mixture such as Class A, class B and class C. specifically, it sought answers to objective like to demonstrate the construction of the development electronic controlled mixing system for concrete components, test the efficiency of the proposed in terms of accuracy and speed, and to determine the acceptability of the developed electronic controlled mixing system for concrete components in terms of its design, functionality, usefulness, safety and maintenance. The study was conducted at University of Rizal System during the second semester of school year 2014-2015. Two groups of respondents were considered which consist of ten (10) students and five (5) experts in the field of Civil and Electronics. After the analysis and interpretation of data gathered from the stages of designing and evaluation, the summary of the results was established. Electronic Control System for concrete components mixing was developed using locally available materials. A Micro-Controller device was used to actuate the programs to be used. the micro-controller unit was the heart of the device which is powered by a direct current power source. Gear motor was used to perform the mixing of the concrete components. It is found that the developed electronics control system for concrete component mixing passed the test of performance in terms of accuracy as revealed by the rating sheet a very small difference of the recorded average from the amount component dispensed between trials. And it is also found out to be faster than the traditional method of preparing the mixture which is manual. Generally, the two groups of respondents rated the developed system with a general average weighted mean of 4.08 and verbally interpreted as much accepted and 4.30 with the verbal interpretation of very much accepted. The developed electronic control for concrete component mixing satisfied the users in terms of its total functionality and its design. The electronic control system could be developed and produced due to the availability of its components in the local markets. It is found out that the device performs accurately, fast and comparable to required quality of the mixtures in terms of the amount of components dispensed for the different classes of concrete mixtures. Further enhancement on the design and assembly of circuits and components is recommended to fully maximize its used. also, further study should be undertaken to add more features and capability to the developed device. Feasibility study must be conducted in order to determine the market acceptance of the device.
