EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to find out the difficulties encountered by the University of Rizal System Morong fourth year Hotel and Restaurant Management students towards their research subject. The respondents were forty-eight (48) fourth year hotel and restaurant management students who experienced difficulties in terms of allotment financial aspects, behavior of the members, uncooperative respondents, personal problems, and unavailability of data. The respondents were selected through purposive sampling technique. The conditions ascertained in this study were the problems and difficulties encountered by the University of Rizal System Morong fourth year hotel and restaurant management students towards their research subject. The study used descriptive type research questionnaire checklist to gather the needed data. Statistical tools such as frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and one-way analysis (ANOVA) were used to interpret the results of the study. Responses were tallied, tabulated and interpreted. From the analysis and interpretation of data, the following findings were found out. The profile of the respondents showed that in terms of age out of forty-eight (48) respondents, sixty-five (65) percent is at the age bracket of 17-20 years of age. In terms of sex, the female respondents were more than the male respondents with twenty-eight (28) female and twenty (20) males. The extent of difficulties encountered in research subject by the respondents shows that with respect to time allotment and personal problem both were interpreted as "serious" respectively. In terms of financial aspects, behavior of the members, uncooperative respondents, and unavailability of data all were interpreted as "fairly serious". The general weighted mean in different aspects with respect to time allotment, financial aspects, behaviors of the members, uncooperative respondents, personal problem, and unavailability of data was interpreted as fairly serious. The significant difference on the extent of difficulties encountered by the University of Rizal System Morong fourth year hotel and restaurant management respondents during their research subject with respect to above mentioned variables showed that age, sex, and month family income the null hypothesis failed to reject. Therefore, there is no significant difference on the difficulties encountered by the University of Rizal System Morong fourth year hotel and restaurant management students during their research subject. Based on the summary of findings the following conclusions were formulated. There were more female respondents than the male. It was concluded therefore, that problem and experienced by the respondents. However, age were not determining factor in the difficulties encountered by the University of Rizal System Morong fourth year hotel and restaurant management respondents in their research subject. In the light of the findings and conclusions drawn, the following recommendations were hereby offered: the researchers should follow and clarify suggestions by the experts before given instructions to the members. Motivation should be given to the research to avoid difficulties of doing their thesis research work. Student-researchers should friendly relation with their prospective subject or respondents. Time management topic be included in the discussion of the subject for the students to be more aware that time management is precious and this would aid them in establishing routine, setting goals and understanding priorities in conducting a research study. Researchers should work closely with their thesis adviser to make sure that you are on right track at all stages. It is a good idea to set up a weekly meeting your thesis adviser at which they will provide updates on their work. There should be discussion with their thesis supervisor, early on in the process, how he or she expects to receive drafts of their work. For example, some thesis panels like to review each chapter draft as it is completed, while others prefer not to review any work until all deadlines. When you're late, you waste people's time and make them mad. Stay focused on the task. Make your meeting count. Don't drift into irrelevant subjects. Be mindful about what you need to accomplish. Be inclusive. Bring every member of the group in on discussion, decisions making, and activities. Give everyone a chance to speak, listen to them, and give serious consideration to what they are saying. Cooperate. Setup guidelines when you from the group. Create requirements and state the consequences of not completing the tasks assigned. Also, make sure to state at what point you will drop a member from the group; this is important to avoid carrying dead weight for the whole length of the course.
