Thesis Bachelor of Technology major in Mechanical and Production Technology University of Rizal System-Morong. 2018
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop a Modified Portable Coolant System out of cheap and locally available materials. Specifically, this study attempted to determine the level of acceptability of the modified portable coolant system in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, functionality and durability. The study was conducted at University of Rizal System,1 Morong Campus during the School Year 2017-2018. The researchers adapted a modified questionnaire-checklist as the main instrument and validated it to determine the level of acceptability of modified portable coolant system. The respondents were purposive selected to evaluate the output. They were composed of fifteen (15) students, the end-users and five (5) faculty members as experts. Based on the analysis of the study, the researchers designed a well detailed assembly drawing, pictorial drawing and exploded drawing and constructed modified portable coolant system out of locally available materials. Based fro the results of the study, the modified portable coolant system, was found out as "very much accepted" in terms of usefulness, functionality, safety and maintenance, durability as perceived by the experts and end-users. It was found out that there is no significant difference between the evaluations made by the mechanical and technology experts and students on the acceptability of the modified portable coolant system in terms of usefulness, functionality, safety and maintenance, and durability, hence the hypothesis is accepted. Based on the foregoing findings and conclusions it was recommended that the device should be improved in terms of durability; the device should re-modeled and be improved is the near future to upgrade its functions; other research instrument should be developed in order to test the variables that may affect the performance of the project and parallel study should be conducted using other variable for the modification and enhancement of the developed device, furthermore, it is recommended that the connector hose should have a gate valve to control the pressure of coolant while in machining operation.
