Thesis Bachelor of Technology major in Electrical Technology University of Rizal System-Morong. 2018
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to design and develop Dynamo and Peltier Powered Electric Fan. It further aimed to determine its acceptability in terms of functionality, usefulness, design and safety and maintenance, the significant difference between the developed dynamo and peltier powered electric fan and the existing rechargeable fan, the performance level with respect to charging time and power consumption. The device has the capacity to charge a battery that powered the fan motor, which in turn drive the dynamo that charges the battery. This study was conducted at the University of Rizal System, Morong Campus during the school year 2017-2018. The device was constructed out of locally available materials. There were 30 respondents and ten (10) faculty of the college of industrial technology teaching electrical technology and twenty (20) fourth year electrical students who evaluated the developed device in term of functionality, usefulness, design and safety and maintenance compared to the existing rechargeable fan. The data gathered in the study were statistically treated using qualitative description, weighted mean, and t-test. The dynamo and peltier electric fan was tested for operation where troubles was observed and revised. Through try-out and revisions made, the project reached the functional output and attained the project objective. On the acceptability of the develop device: in terms of functionality, usefulness, durability and safety and maintenance of the developed device gained the interpretation of Strongly Accepted. On the level of performance of the developed Dynamo and Peltier Powered Electric Fan with respect to charging time, the over-all mean is 4.2, which is verbally interpreted as extremely effective with respect to power consumption, the over-all mean is 4.25 which is verbally interpreted as extremely effective. It was concluded that there is no significant difference between the acceptability of the developed Dynamo and Peltier powers electric fan and the existing rechargeable electric fan as perceived by the respondents, therefore the null hypothesis is accepted. Moreover, it was concluded that the concluded dynamo and peltier powered electric fan is extremely effective with respect charging time and powered consumption.
