Dissertation note: Thesis Bachelor of Technology major in Electromechanical Technology University of Rizal System-Morong. 2017 Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop an AUTOMATIC HEATING SYSTEM FOR CHAFING DISH. Specifically, this study attempted to design and construct an automatic heating system for chafing dish, performed try out and revision; determine the difference on the performance of the existing heating system for chafing dish and the automatic heating system for chafing dish in terms of design, functionality, safety and maintenance. It also determined the performance of the constructed automatic heating system for chafing dish in terms of: temperature, time, control and power. Also, prepared the technical specification and operation manual of the constructed automatic heating system for chafing dish. Lastly, it determined the acceptability of the automatic heating system for chafing dish in terms of: design, functionality, safety and maintenance. The respondents provided crucial information to the completion of this study. The results were tallied and computed for analysis. There were two groups of respondents who tested the acceptability who has the knowledge, skills and understanding of electrical wiring and its operation. Then, other ten (10) were the end-users who used the automatic heating system for chafing dish. The statistical treatment used was weighted mean and independent t-test. The weighted mean was used to determine the acceptability of the project while the independent t-test was used to determine the significant difference on the evaluation made by the end-users and experts in automatic heating system for chafing dish. On the acceptability of automatic heating system for chafing dish as evaluated by the end-users and experts in terms of design, it obtained an average weighted mean of 4.7 and 4.8 respectively and verbally interpreted as extremely accepted. In terms of functionality as evaluated by the end users and experts, it obtained as extremely accepted. In terms of safety as evaluated by the end-users and experts, it obtained an average weighted mean of 4.9 and 4.7 respectively and verbally interpreted as extremely accepted. In terms of safety as evaluated by the end-users and experts, it obtained an average weighted mean of 4.6 and 4.8 respectively and verbally interpreted as extremely accepted. In terms of maintenance as evaluated by the end-users and experts, it obtained an equal average weighted mean of 4.7 respectively and verbally interpreted as extremely accepted.
