Dissertation note: Thesis Bachelor of Technology major in Mechanical and Production Technology University of Rizal System-Morong. 2017 Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study entitled Modified Cable-Tie Fitness Machine was conducted by the Bachelor of Technology major in Mechanical and Production Technology students at the University of Rizal System, Morong Campus during the academic year 2017-2018. The project focused on the development of Modified Cable-Tie Fitness Machine intended for the development of the muscles of the body. It was limited to the designing, constructing, trying-out and evaluating the completed output to determine its acceptability. There were twenty (20) respondents of the study, ten (10) coaches and trainers of the university and ten (10) athletes, who evaluated the study in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, functionality and durability. The data gathered in the study were statistically treated using qualitative description, weighted mean and independent t-test. The Modified Cable-Tie Fitness Machine was tested for Operation where troubles were observed and revised. Through try-out and revisions made, the project reached the functional output and attained its objectives. On the acceptability of the Modified Cable-Tie Fitness Machine: in terms of usefulness, as evaluated by the end-users and experts, it garnered a mean of 4.7 for the end-users and 4.5 for the experts, both verbally interpreted as extremely useful. In terms of safety and maintenance, the modified cable-tie fitness machine got a mean of 4.6 for the end-users and 4.3 for the experts, both verbally interpreted as extremely safe and easy to maintain. In terms of functionality, the modified cable-tie fitness machine also got a mean of 4.8 for the end-users and 4.5 for the expert, both verbally interpreted as outstanding. In terms of durability, the modified cable-tie fitness machine got a mean of 4.7 for the end-users and 4.1 for the experts, both verbally interpreted as extremely durable. It was concluded that the modified cable-tie fitness machined was designed and constructed out of locally available materials; the modified cable-tie fitness machined was extremely accepted as evaluated by the experts and end users in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, and functionality. The null hypothesis that there is no significant difference on the evaluation made by the experts and end users on the acceptability of the modified cable-tie fitness machine in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance and functionality is accepted, therefore there is no significant difference on the evaluation made by the respondents. However, in terms of durability, the null hypothesis is rejected hence there is significant difference on the evaluation made by the respondents. Based on the findings and conclusions, the following recommendations were hereby offered: financial assistance may be granted to the students pursuing research studies on different endeavors; modification of the design can be done to improve the layout of the device; further testing should be done to address the issue of durability of the device; future study regarding the validity of the device should be done in the near future.
