Thesis Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering University of Rizal System-Morong. 2015
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The robotics Controlled using Android Application aimed to develop a Robot and an Android Application which served as the controller of the developed robot of this study via Bluetooth. The study was conducted at the University of Rizal System, Morong Campus during the second semester of school year 2013 to 2014 up to the first semester of school year 2014 to 2015. The study involved ten (10) respondents chosen purposively by the researchers, five (5) of which were the students of Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and five (5) IT and Engineering professors. The researchers conducted this study to basically understand and to know the principles and fundamentals of robots. The researchers aimed to create a robot but before they do that, they must study first how the robots move and controlled. The researchers tested the performance of the robot and its new controller in terms of accuracy, functionality, modifiability, portability, user-friendliness and workability which was agreed by the respondents a very much acceptable in every aspects. The development of Robotics Controlled using Android Application succeeded to function based on project design but with a limitation. The robotics controlled using android application was rated very much accepted as perceived by the respondents obtaining the following rankings: Modifiability and Workability ranked first with a 4.7 average mean, followed by functionality and portability with an average weighted mean of 4.47 and lastly accuracy and user-friendliness with a 4.37 average weighted mean. The robotics controlled using application was constructed using materials available locally. It attained its function based on the result of the evaluation made by the respondents and it was found to be very much accepted by the respondents. Having a joint on the robot's knees is recommended to make the robot walk, making the robot more pleasing to the eyes by cleaning its physical appearance, replacing the foot of the robot because it was made up of some sort of steel which can harm the user because of its sharp edges and improving the device may be done by the future researchers like talking, sensing and walking is recommended.
