EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study is entitled Social Background and Academic Achievements of Student Athletes was conducted during the school year 2017-2018. The study was conducted in University of Rizal System Morong to determine the social background of the students athletes and their academic achievements. The respondents were the male and female student athletes from different colleges in University of Rizal System Morong, namely the College of Science(COS),College of Engineering(COEng),College of Education(COE) and the College of Industrial and Technology. Moreover, based from the summary of findings and with the use of statistical treatment, the study found out that most of the student athletes belong to age bracket of 19-20, males and females, enrolled in the College of Science, third year, basketball players, two years as players and with good and very good grades. It is also conducted that the social background often affects the academic achievements of student athletes. Therefore, student athletes have a high academic achievement and their personal information of is not a contributory to their social background. Lastly, the study recommends that the school administration may provide enough facilities and financial support to student athletes, conduct seminar-workshop to maintain their good performances in academics and sports and a parallel study maybe conducted considering other variables
