EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to construct and develop and improvised hand brake engagement alarm which can be used to manually operate vehicles. The improvised hand brake engagement alarm can be used as an instructional material in an automotive class that is designed for safety of the passengers and the vehicle. Specifically, it aimed to perform try-out and revisions, evaluate the acceptability of the project in terms of functionality, usefulness, durability and safety and maintenance and test the significant difference on the evaluation made by the experts and end-users. The researchers used the research instrument or evaluation sheet to determine the acceptability of the improvised hand brake engagement alarm. The experts who validated the research come from the college of industrial technology and private automotive service shop. The respondents provided pertinent information crucial to the completion of this study. The result were tallied and computed for the acceptability of the project. The first group of respondents were ten (10) automotive experts who have knowledge, skills and understanding on automotive and electrical operations. The other twenty (20) were the end-users who have knowledge in driving manual device. The statistical treatments were the mean and independent t-test. The t-test was used to test if there is any significant difference on the perception of the experts and the end-users. In general, the acceptability of the project as evaluated by the experts and end-users obtained a verbal interpretation of "extremely accepted". The improvised hand brake engagement alarm was designed and constructed out of locally available materials. The project was extremely accepted as evaluated by the respondents. The t-value in terms of functionality, usefulness, durability and safety and maintenance resulted that there is no significant difference between the evaluation made by the experts and end-users.
