EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop a remote controlled electric motor driven utility cabinet. Specifically, it attempted to design and construct a remote controlled electric motor driven utility cabinet using locally available materials; check the capability and limitation of the research project through try out and revision; determine the level of performance of the developed remote controlled electric motor driven utility cabinet in terms of transceiver's distance from the receiver, system reaction time and charging of the remote control system. It also sought to determine the level of acceptability of the developed remote controlled electric motor driven utility cabinet as evaluated by the respondents in terms of functionality, security, safety and maintenance and design. On the level of performance of the developed remote controlled electric motor driven utility cabinet, with respect to effectiveness of the sensor in terms of transceiver's distance from the receiver with and without barriers; system reaction time and charging time of the remote control system, was found to be extremely effective. On the acceptability of the developed remote controlled electric motor driven utility cabinet, it is found out to be extremely accepted in terms of security and very much accepted by the respondents in terms of functionality, safety and maintenance and design. However, the overall evaluation is very much accepted. Based on the result of the evaluation of the study, the researchers concluded that the developed remote controlled electric motor driven utility cabinet is extremely effective with respect to transceiver's distance from the receiver; system reaction time and charging time of the remote control system. The developed remote controlled electric motor driven utility cabinet is very much accepted by the respondents in terms of functionality, security, safety and maintenance and design.
