Dissertation note: Thesis Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Science University of Rizal System-Morong 2017 Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study focused on a science-based techniques in investigating the growth performance of cananga odorata lam. (ilang-ilang) which was intended for use in the science based activity for the secondary level. The experimental procedure utilized in the study was introduced to serve as reference for conduct of research based activity for high school science classes. To fulfill this, treatment were used and applied before seeds of ilang-ilang were sown and grown in agribags. Seeds were soaked in lukewarm water before using control and experimental treatments such as indole-butyric acid coconut water. Coconut water is scientifically known as cocos nucifera linn. Comparison between treatments were done using the variables, height of plants, number of leaves, and number of sprouted seeds observed for a period of nine weeks. Findings revealed a comparable performance when ilang-ilang was treated with coconut water and indole-butyric acid. Failure to reject the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference between the ffect of the treatments on the growth performance of the ilang-ilag in terms of the heighyt of plants, number of leaves, and number of sprouted seeds; hence a comparable performance between groups; treated and untreated. Coconut water could be used as regulator growth in ilang-ilang and hence recommended for growing other flowering trees.
