Dissertation note: Thesis Bachelor of Science in Tourism University of Rizal System 2015 Summary: The study primarily aimed to elicit basic information on the competencies learned by the Bachelor of Science in Tourism thier usefulness to current job. The descriptive method of research was used in the study with 30 respondents in the school year 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. The findings of the study. The majority of the respondents were female belonged to the aged bracket of 24 - 27 years old; single; college graduate; regular employee; employed as office staff, airline ground service staff, deck cadet, customer service personnel, hotel attendant, sales and marketing staff and earned with monthly income of 10,000 - 15,000 pesos. The level of competencies learned by the respondents' that Information Technology Skills, Communication Skills, Human Relation Skills and Entrepreneurial Skills are highly considered and, Critical Thinking Skills was considered very highly useful in their current job. Based on the summary of findings, The Following recommendations are hereby drawn : Revision in the curriculum must be done that will congruent to what the industry needs that will test the student competency in producing graduates and later on be hired in the company that is in their field of specialization; Make wide campaign in various schools in order to increase the enrolment in the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Program at URS Tanay Campus; Strengthen partnership between academe and other institution in order to harmonize the plans and programs of the Bachelor of Science in Tourism; The University should improve its physical facilities (laboratories ) as the training ground that will test the competencies and skills of the students before their off campus training in order to prepare the students to be an effective employee in the near future.
