The primary aim of the study was to find out the level of interest in academic performance of intermediete pupils in basic home economics. the respondents of the study were the grade 5 and grade 6 pupils during school year 2016-2017. descriptive method and documentary analysis were used in the study. the instrument employed in gathering data were questionnaire and from 138. the grades of the pupils were obtained from the laboratory school principal. the gathered data were interpreted, utilizing statistical tools frequency, percentage and mean. percentage was applied to determine the profile of the respondents. mean was applied to determine the level interest and academic performance in BHE with respect to lesson discussed, activities, learning materials and evaluation tools when grouped according to profile. findings of his study revealed that as to age, majority belongs to age 11, they are dominated by females. while as to grade level, there are more grade VI pupils than grade V. most of the respondents obtained an academic grade of 85-89% during the first and second grading period. while the level of interest of pupils with respect to lesson discussed, activities, learning materials and evaluation tools were found much interested.
