The study presents results and findings of the status, problems and prospects of bighead carp (Aristichthys nobilis) fishpen industry both registered and unregistered in the Province of Rizal. The study utilized primary and secondary data. The primary data were gathered through interviews with the key informant and a cross-section survey of fishpen bighead carp, fish pen operators and their status, problems and prospects on operations in Laguna de Bay and the conduct of research was done during the second semester of Academic Year 2011-2012. The secondary data were gathered through the questionnaire checklists. The results of the study indicated that bighead carp fishpen industry in Laguna de Bay is a vibrant industry. The study showed that bighead fishpen industries in Laguna de Bay contribute significantly to fish production in the province as well as to the national aquaculture and fisheries production.
