Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Mathematics major in Computer Science) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The researchers focused on the development and evaluation of MathOpera Tutor Application. This study aims to enhance the teaching learning process between the teachers and elementary through using Android Application. The researchers based their lessons on the curriculum of Grade III in Mathematics. This study was conducted at University of Rizal System-Morong Laboratory Elementary School during the first semester 2014-2015. There were forty (40) respondents taken from Grade III students and six (6) elementary teachers. The program was designed and created using Eclipse and Adobe Photoshop for picture enhancement and Text speech software for voice over. The researchers used Eclipse IDE and Android SDK as a plug-in developing the system. Descriptive and Developmental research was used by the researchers during the conduct of the study to determine and analyze the difference between the levels of acceptability of the two groups of respondents and the developed MathOpera Tutor Application. To determine the level of acceptability of the developed program in terms of accuracy, applicability, user-friendliness, workability, completeness, portability and modifiability, weighted mean was used. To find the significant difference on the perception of the respondents in the level of aceptability, independent t-test was applied. The result of the study shows that it gained a weighted mean of 4.45 for instructors and 4.39 for students on the perception of the respondents on the level of acceptability of the program with the verbal interpretation of "Very Much Accepted". Based on the findings and conclusion, the following are highly recommended that the school may provide financial support for the developed system to be implemented as an additional tool in teaching the preparatory pupils; follow-up studies may be conducted for further enhancement of the mobile learning for better understanding of the preparatory pupils; and parallel study can be conducted measuring the effectiveness of the developed MathOpera Tutor Application.
