Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Mathematics major in Computer Science) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to develop Automath: Fundamental concepts of Mathematics. This was conducted at University of Rizal System Morong during the academic year 2015-2016. The researchers used the Visual Basic 6.0 as the program in developing software, Database Access from Microsoft as the storage of data, Windows Moviemaker liveeeeeee for the editing the video and Balabolka as a text-speech program. After developing the program, the researchers conducted an evaluation for the program where fifty (50) respondents were chosen. The respondents was randomly selected forty (40) From BS Mathematics second year college students and five (5) ICT, five (5) Mathematics professors to determine the validity of the research. To determine the level of the Automath: Fundamental Concepts of Mathematics in terms of accuracy, applicability, user-friendliness, workability, completeness, portability clarity and modifiability. Weighted mean was used t-test to find the significant difference on the perception of the respondents on the level of acceptability. The result of the Automath: Fundamental Concepts of Mathematics was Very much accepted by the instructors with the computed weighted mean of 4.6 and very much accepted to the students with a weighted mean of 4.7. On the other hand it was statistically found out that there is significant difference on the level of acceptability of Automath: Fundamental Concepts of Mathematics perceived by two groups of respondent in term of workability and the rest of the other variables has no significant difference on the level of acceptability of the developed program as perceived by two groups of respondents. Based on the summary of findings and conclusions , the following recommendations was drawn. The developed program can be useful to the students in learning more about the selected topics in Fundamental Concepts of Mathematics and the same time enjoy using computer game that the researchers developed. The developed program is recommended as motivational tools to enhance learning and to have fun at the same time so that the students will not be bored in their lessons. Follow-up study should be conducted for further enhancement of the Automath: Fundamental Concepts of Mathematics so the developed program will be more effective.
