Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Mathematics) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled APPLICATION OF GAME THEORY IN TIC-TAC-TOE was conducted at the University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal during the academic year 2015-2016. The purpose of this study was to analyze the 3x3 and 4x4 tic-tac-toe game tree and develop an optimal move and strategy in different near end game position. The researchers used books, encyclopedia and information from internet to gather data about game theory to identify its principal parts and the established methods used in analyzing. From the data gathered, the researchers were able to analyze the tic-tac-toe game tree in different near end game position and develop an optimal move and strategy. Moreover, while exploring the game tree, the researchers provided a proof in each case of near end game position. through these proofs, the researchers were able to justify the developed optimal move and strategy. From the analysis of findings, the researchers found out that game theory in tic-tac-toe helps to analyze, think critically, make strategies optimal, and improve decision-making. The researchers found out that game theory can be used in tic-tac-toe to analyze the game and develop an optimal move and strategy in different cases of near end game condition.
