Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Psychology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to determine the relationship of the extent of use of self-portrait photograph Selfie and level of narcissistic behavior of selected freshmen students in University of Rizal System-Morong. This was conducted during the school year 2014-2015. The Subjects of the study were the 80 selected freshmen student of Bachelor of Science in Major in Psychology. An adopted questionnaire checklist on the extent of use of self-portrait photograph selfie and level of narcissistic behavior of selected freshmen in University of Rizal System-Morong was used as the main instrument in gathering needed data. For the analysis of the gathered data, the following statistical treatments were used. To determine the extent of self-potrait photograph selfie weighted mean were used. To determine the level of narcissistic behavior in terms of normal, borderline and narcissist frequency percentage and rank distribution were used. To find the significant relationship of extent of use of self-portrait photograph selfie and level of narcissistic behavior Pearson-r was used. The result reveals that most of the freshmen students major in Psychology seldom used selfie, that 37 out of 80 respondents seldom used self-portrait photograph selfie with the mean of 2.45. On the other hand, the level of narcissistic behavior behavior of the respondents obtained a percentage of 0.65 and verbally interpreted as Borderline. On the relationship of Self-portrait photograph selfie and narcissistic behavior, the study found out that there is a significant relationship between Self-portrait photograph selfie and the borderline level of Narcissistic Behavior. The null hypothesis fails to accept and significant at .006 level of significance having a probability value of .307. Based from the summary of findings, these conclusions are drawn and formulated that the self-portrait photograph selfie has a significant relationship to the Narcissistic behavior of the fresh men students. The study recommended that further studies maybe considered using other such as age, achievements, and social status. The future researchers should also consider that classification of area where the study will be conducted. Provide more programs and activities that will promote good benefits of joining campaigns selfie's that will help the community. Further researchers may also benefit to other studies that focuses on taking selfies and its relation to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder for more information.
