Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Guidance and Counseling) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to determine the effects of "Patnubay at Gabay.. Alay Ko" extension activity of College of Science Bachelor of Science and Guidance and Counseling to the academic performance of children in Felicismo Aurora Bahay Kalinga Incorporated. The children in FAKBI served as respondents of the study. The subject of the study described in terms of their profile such as age, sex and grade and year level. This study was conducted during the school year 2015-2016 at Felicismo - Aurora Bahay Kalinga, Incorporated at Brgy. Santiago Baras Rizal. Not only to distinguish the effects of "Patnubay at Gabay.. Alay Ko" extension activity but also to know the progress, development and learning of children regarding academic performance such as recitation and participation if they have improve their cognitive aspects. Extra-curricular activities involvement if they have improve on such activities and if they develop their own potentialities, an d doing/submission of assignments/ projects to. This study made-used of questionnaire-checklist to determine the effects of "Patnubay at Gabay.. Alay Ko" to the academic performance of children in FAKBI with respect to recitation and participation, extra-curricular activities involvement, intellectual aspect, co-curricular activities involvement and doing/submission of assignments. The study was limited only to the children of FAKBI who are studying and was able to provide necessary information. The following statistical treatments were utilized to determine the effects of "Patnubay at Gabay.. Alay Ko" to the academic performance of children in FAKBI. To determine the profile of respondents, frequency, percentage and rank distribution were used. To determine the extent of the effects of the extension activity with respect to the different aspect, mean was applied. To determine the significant difference on the extent of the effects of the extension activity to the academic performance of the respondents in terms of their profile. One way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied. From the summary of findings, the following conclusions were drawn. Most of the children are between the age bracket 10-8 and 11-15, female whose parents are living together but cannot afford to support the family. "Patnubay at Gabay.. Alay Ko" often affect the academic performance of the children in FAKBI. The personological data of the children are not contributory to their academic performance. With the help of the summary of findings and conclusions, the following were by recommended. More attention should be provided by extension activity on the academic aspects of the children. Continuous conduct of extension activity is highly recommended. Parallel study maybe conducted considering other variables.
