Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Elementary Education) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study focused on the effectiveness of flipped classroom IN TEACHING Mathematics for grade 4 pupils. It was conducted at URS-Laboratory School. It utilized the experimental method of research. The subject respondents were grouped into two to compare the experimental group with twenty (21) pupils and control group with twenty (20) pupils. It also employed pretest and posttest design. It made used of the experimental method of research utilizing pretest/posttest design. The respondents were given pretest and posttest to determine the effectiveness of flipped classroom in teaching Mathematics for Grade 4. The lessons include three (3) selected topics in Mathematics 4 such as Understanding Perimeter, Understanding Perimeter, Understanding Quadrilaterals and Understanding Patterns and Sequences. The average in the two grading period was the equating variable in assigning the number of students in experimental and control groups. The control was exposed to the traditional method of teaching while the experimental group was exposed to the flipped classroom environment by the use of developed video lectures in Mathematics. To determine the level of performance of the experimental and control group as revealed by the pretest and posttest results, mean and standard deviation were applied. To determine whether there is a significant difference o the level of performance of the experimental and control groups as revealed by the pretest and posttest results with respect to the different lessons, dependent test was used to determine if there is a significant difference on the level of performance of the experimental and control groups as revealed by the posttest results with respect to the different lessons, independent t-test was applied. The study found out that the experimental group with the utilization of flipped classroom environment was Proficient and Approaching Proficiency before the lesson and Proficient after the lessons. While the control group with the interpretations Proficient and Approaching Proficiency before the lesson has no, improvement after the lessons ; the study found out that there were significant difference on the level of performance of the experimental group and control group as re veiled by the pretest and posttest results with respect to the lessons Understanding Quadrilaterals and Understanding Patterns and Sequences while there was no significant difference on the level of performance of the experimental and control group as revealed by the posttest result on lessons Understanding Perimeter, Understanding Quadrilaterals and Understanding Patterns and Sequences. Moreover, in the list of the findings, the study concluded that the flipped classroom environment can help improve the performance of the students in some instruction of lessons in Mathematics. From the conclusions drawn, the study recommended that the flipped Classroom Environment may be utilized by the teachers in teaching Mathematics to gain much higher level of performance of the students. Also the developed video lectures and the researcher made test may be revised and modified for the better improvement of the instructional material and the parallel studies may be conducted considering other group of students and other variables not considered in the study.
