Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This study was conducted to assess the Transition Skills Programs for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities. The research conducted during the academic year 2013-2014 in the University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal. The subjects of the study were five (5) persons with intellectual disabilities who are enrolled in the Transition Skills Program in Morong National High School. This study used the descriptive method of research utilizing researchers made questionnaire checklist composed of two (2) parts. Part I, included the different variables such as objectives or the program, tools and equipment, teachers school personnel and school administrator. Part II of the questionnaire checklist contains the life skills, (handicraft making), social and emotional skills and functional academic skills. Those variables were used to attain the desired assessment of transition skills program for persons with intellectual disabilities. Mean was the statistical tool used to answer problem in the line with the study. The study revealed that the present level of the implementation of the transition skills program for person with intellectual disabilities with respect to the different aspects as assessed by the two groups of respondents is well implemented. It was concluded that the Transition skills Program for persons with intellectual disabilities is effective in enhancing the skills needed for independent living, involvement in the community and preparing them in the world of work. Based on the findings and conclusion of the study, it was recommended to conduct further study on the effectiveness of transition program considering additional tools and equipment to use for better enhancement of the skills of persons included in the program.
