Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Physical Sciences) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop an android applications as instructional material in selected lessons in Earth and Space for grade 7 students and determined its effectiveness. This was conducted at the Morong National High School during the school year 2015-2016. The developed android application has different features that will help students to increase their motivation to learn some lessons in Earth and Space. The researchers used experimental and control group of respondents who answered the questionnaires which was composed of thirty (30) items to determine the increase in the level of performance of students as they exposed to the developed instructional materials in selected lessons in Earth and Space. In determining the level of performance of the experimental group and control group as revealed in the pretest and posttest scores with respect to different lessons, mean and standard deviation was used. To determine if there's a significant difference on the level of performance of the experimental group and control group as revealed in the pretest and posttest scores with respect to different lessons, dependent t-test was used. To determine if there's a significant different on the level of performance of the experimental group and control group as revealed in the posttest scores with respect to different lessons, independent t-test was used. It was found out that there is an increased in the performance of the students as they were exposed to the android application. Furthermore, there is a significant difference in the performance of the experimental and control group in the different lessons in Earth and Space as revealed by their posttest and pretest results. Therefore, it was statistically found out that the performance as revealed by the pretest and posttest result. It can be concluded that the students who were exposed to the android application has increased their learning and performed better in the different lessons as revealed by their posttest score. In addition, it was found out that the developed android application is an effective instructional material to be used in the discussion of selected lessons in Earth and Space as revealed by the increase of mean percentage obtained by the different lessons. The researchers therefore recommended the enhancement and imrpovement of the animations and features of the android application in selected lessons in Earth and Space that will be more conducive to students and also, parallel study may be conducted using another lesson in Science.
