Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Technology and Livelihood Education) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed in determining the employability of graduates in Bachelor of Secondary education major in Technology and Livelihood education. It was conducted at the university of Rizal System - Morong Rizal for the school year 2013-2014. The study composed of 59 respondents with 14 males and 45 females. The respondents chosen were the graduates of Bachelor of Secondary education major in Technology and livelihood Education since 2007- 2012. The selected variables used were the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, civil status, year graduated and LET result, and school- related factors in terms of instruction, curriculum, facilities and job preparedness and to determine the employability of graduates in terms of employment status, mode of entry, job waiting time and nature of work. The study was conducted with the intention of helping not only the college and the school administrator but also the students taking up bachelor of Secondary Education for their preparation in the world of work. The study used the descriptive method of research utilizing validated modified questionnaire checklist as the main tool in gathering data. The study found out that majority of the respondents belong to the age bracket of 23-27 years old. In terms of sex, 45 or 76.27 percent are females and 14 or 23.73 percent are males. In terms of civil status, 37 or 62.72 percent are single, 22 or 37.28 percent are married. In terms of year graduated., majority of the respondents graduated from high school year 2008-2009 and in terms of LET result more than half of the respondents have not yet passed in the licensure examination for teachers. More so, majority of the respondents are employed and permanent in their present job, their mode of entry is walk in, and the waiting time for their job is 1-6 months before they were hired. Also, instruction, curriculum and facilities are high influence to the employability of graduates and they are much prepared in their job. There is significant difference between profiles of the respondents in terms of age, civil status, year graduated and LET result to school related factors in relation to instruction, curriculum and job preparedness. On the other hand, there is significant difference between employability of graduates with respect to employment status, job waiting time and nature of employment and school related factors. Also, there is significant difference between profiles of respondents in terms of age, sex, year graduated and LET result to employability with respect to employment status, mode of entry, job waiting and nature of employment. The study recommended that graduates should enrol in thegraduate program of professional growth to enhance their employability and productivity. Provide adequate facilities, tools and equipment that will support the graduates to enhance their skill and knowledge. Spend more time to manipulate skills and total learning experiences of the graduates will be applied in their teaching profession. Review program should be conducted to increase licensure examination passer. Intensive review of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Technology and Livelihood Education curriculum must be given attention to improve the licensure performance of the graduates.
