Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Technology major in Mechanical and Production Technology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop the Tap and Die Holder. Specifically, this study attempted to determine the level of acceptability of the developed tap and die holder in terms of performance, Usefulness, Durability and Safety and Maintenance. The researchers utilized an instrument which is a researchers-made questionnaire checklist to determine the level of acceptability of the developed Tap and Die Holder. It is a validated instrument accomplished by the respondents who provided information for the completion of the study. The results were tallied and computed for analysis. There were two groups of respondents who tested the acceptability of the project. The first group consisted of ten (10) experts who had the knowledge, skills and fully understanding on the construction of the developed Tap and Die Holder while the other group consisted of twenty (20) second and third year students who are taking up Diploma of Technology and Bachelor of Technology course major in Mechanical Technology at the same University. Qualitative description was used in developing the tap and die holder and weighted mean was used in determining the acceptability of the tap and die holder. To determine its significant difference between the evaluations made by the two groups of respondents, T-test was used. Based on the analysis and interpretation of data, the study revealed that, On the design and construction of the Tap and Die Holder, the researchers were able to design a well detailed assembly drawing, pictorial drawing and exploded drawing and constructed a tap and die holder out of locally available materials. On the level of acceptability of the project in terms of performance, the experts perceived the device as extremely accepted with weighted mean of 4.38 and the students perceived the device also as extremely acceptable with a weighted mean of 4.69. In terms of usefulness, the experts perceived the device as extremely accepted with weighted mean of 4.62 and the students perceived the device also as extremely acceptable with a weighted mean of 4.63. In terms of durability, the experts perceived the device as extremely accepted with weighted mean of 4.48 and the students perceived the device also as extremely acceptable with a weighted mean of 4.60. In terms of Safety and Maintenance, the experts perceived the device as extremely accepted with weighted mean of 4.76 and the students perceived the device also as extremely acceptable with a weighted mean of 4.66. On the significant differences made by the experts and the students in terms of the above variables; it was found that there is no significant difference between the evaluations made by the mechanical and technology experts and students on the acceptability of the developed tap and die holder in terms of four variables; hence the null hypothesis was accepted. Based on the foregoing findings and conclusions the researchers recommended that: the over-all design of the study must be improved to increase its performance and efficiency. Follow-up study may be conducted for the improvement of the study and enhancement of the device.
