Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Technology major in Electronics Technology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop a door security system utilizing biometrics fingerprint and radio-frequency identification card out of locally available materials. The door security system utilizing biometrics fingerprint and radio frequency identification card is a device that helps to increase the security level. Two groups of respondents were selected including five (5) instructors and professors in the College of Industrial Technology who acted as the experts of the study and ten (10) electronics technology students of the University of Rizal System Morong, Campus who acted as the end-users of the study. The Door Security System Utilizing Biometrics Fingerprints and Radio-Frequency Identification Card were designed and constructed using locally available materials. This study aimed to determine the level of acceptability of the device as evaluated by the experts and end-users in terms of, functionality, accuracy, acceptability, safety and maintenance, and user-friendliness. It also determined the significant difference between the evaluations made by the respondents on the acceptability of the project in terms of the above mentioned criteria. During try-out, revisions were applied on the defects found and problems encountered during the testing period. The device was acceptable as perceived by the respondents in terms of different variables used. It was concluded that there is no significant difference on the evaluation made by the respondents with respect to functionality, accuracy, applicability, safety and maintenance, and user-friendliness. Based from the result of the study, the researchers recommended that modifications on the design of the device should be done in the future to address the issue on the aforementioned variables.
