Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Technology major in Electrical Technology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled Development of Automatic Pencil Sharpener was conducted at University of Rizal System, Morong Campus during the school year 2016 - 2017. The device was constructed out of locally available materials. There were fifty (50) respondents, ten (10) Professors of Electrical Technology as experts and forty (40) fourth year students from Bachelor of Technology students and end-users. They were chosen using purposive sampling technique. They were evaluated the study in terms of design, safety and maintenance, and usefulness and functionality. The data gathered in the study were statistically treated using qualitative description, weighted mean, and t-test. The Multiple Remote Control Convenience Outlet System was tested for operation where troubles are observed and revised. Through try-out and revisions made, the project reached the functional output and attained the project objective. On acceptability of the developed device: in terms of design as evaluated by the end users and experts both achieved a computed weighted mean of 4.6 with verbal interpretation of Extremely Accepted. In terms of safety and maintenance, as evaluated by the experts. It achieved a verbal interpretation of Extremely Accepted having computed weighted mean of 4.7. Likewise, the end users evaluated the developed device as Extremely Accepted having a computed weighted of 4.6. In terms of usefulness and functionality, as evaluated by the experts, achieve a verbal interpretation of Extremely Accepted, with computed mean of 5.0. The end users likewise got Extremely Accepted with a computed weighted of 4.6. The null hypothesis that there is no significant difference on the evaluation made by the experts and end-user on the acceptability of the Development of Automatic Pencil Sharpener in terms of design, safety and maintenance, usefulness and functionality is accepted, therefore not significant. It was conducted that the Development of Automatic Pencil Sharpener was designed and constructed out of locally available materials; it was Extremely Accepted as evaluated by the experts and end users in terms of design, safety and maintenance, usefulness and functionality; the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference on the evaluation made by the two groups of respondents were accepted. Based on the findings and conclusions, the recommendation were hereby offered: Utilization of the developed device and provision for mass production and suggested: A User's Guide/Operation Manual must be made for easy end of the end users; the device can be remodeled in the future through parallel study.
