Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Psychology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study is titled "Classroom Language Anxiety and Academic Performance of Foreign Students in Rizal". The main objective of the study is to determine if classroom language anxiety has an influence on the respondent's academic performance. There were twenty (20) foreign students coming from La Salle in Antipolo, Rizal, Tomas Claudio Colleges in Morong, Rizal and University of Rizal System in Binangonan, Rizal. The study made use of descriptive quantitative research design specifically the survey method. The foreign Language classroom anxiety scale was the instrument used to measure classroom language anxiety and grade weighted average was used to determine the academic performance. The study found out that foreign students have average level of anxiety and fair in terms of academic performance. The findings also showed that there is no significant relationship between classroom language anxiety and academic performance of the foreign students. Thus, the non-significant relationship can be explained through the framework of the language learning motivational self-system. The study recommended several integration on how to manage stress and depression among language learners. Intervention program on language learning motivational self-system can be done through seminar, lecture-forums and workshops. Advocacy activity like brochure dissemination may be conducted to inform the public of the significance of the language learning motivational self-system.
