Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to design and develop a solar powered charging station. Specifically, it aimed to: design and develop a Solar Powered charging station: provide a better, efficient and accurate electrical source to recharge the user's gadgets or electronic devices; determine the acceptability of the solar powered charging station in terms of accuracy, applicability, work-ability, safety and maintenance, and user-friendliness. The study utilized a made questionnaire-checklist which was validated by students and experts. The Solar Powered Charging Station consists of solar panel, charge controller, deep cycle battery, power inverter, coin slots, seven segment timers, an outlet and pieces of multi-wire chargers. Through inserting a five peso coin to the coin slots, user/s can charge their electric gadgets in a certain period which was programmed by the seven segment timers. Based on the analysis of data gathered, it was found that the solar powered charging station could be constructed out of locally available materials. Based on the evaluation on the acceptability of Solar powered charging station in terms of accuracy, applicability, work-ability, safety and maintenance, and user-friendliness were verbally interpreted as "Extremely Accepted". This means that the developed device as a whole satisfied the expected function of a vending machine with regards to the efficiency and accuracy of its source. Based on the summary of findings, it was concluded that the solar powered charging station could be constructed and developed out of locally materials. It concluded also that the said study was accepted in terms of its accuracy, applicability, work-ability, safety and maintenance, and user-friendliness. Based on the summary of findings and conclusion, the following were hereby recommended: future researchers could use a much higher rating of deep cycle battery to store much more energies; rearranged the hardwiring of the station to be more organized, minimized the number of wires by using such as Printed Circuit Board (PCB) or pieces of breadboards and future researchers could use a higher rating of solar panel to provide much more electrical energy for the battery not to drain easily when the number of consumers increases frequently.
