Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Technology major in Electrical Technology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study entitled the Development of Solar Traffic Light was conducted in University of Rizal System - Morong, Rizal during S.Y. 2015 - 2016. The device was constructed out of locally made materials. There were 40 respondents of the study, 10 Professors of Electrical Technology as experts and 30 fourth year Bachelor of Technology students as end users. It was evaluated in terms of design, functionality and usefulness. The data gathered in the study were statistically treated using qualitative, description. Weighted mean and t - test. The developed solar traffic light was tested for operation and troubles was observed. Through try - out and revisions made, the developed device reached functional output and attained the objectives of the study. On the acceptability of the device: in terms of design, as evaluated by the experts. It achieved a computed weighted mean of 4.48 with verbal interpretation of Extremely Accepted. On the other hand, the end users evaluated the design of the developed device as Extremely Acceptable having a computed weighted mean of 4.43. In terms of functionality, as evaluated by the experts, it achieved a verbal interpretation of Extremely Accepted having a computed weighted mean of 4.80. on the other hand, the end user also evaluated the developed device as Extremely Acceptable having computed weighted mean of 4.68. In terms of usefulness, as evaluated by the experts, it achieved a verbal interpretation of Extremely Acceptable with a weighted mean of 4.72. on the other hand, the end user also evaluated the developed device as Extremely Acceptable having a computed weighted mean of 4.65. The null hypothesis that there is no significant difference on the evaluation made by the experts and the end users on the acceptability of the Development of Solar Traffic Light in terms of Design, Functionality, and Usefulness is acceptable, therefore there is no significant difference. The solar traffic light was designed and constructed out of locally available materials; the solar traffic light was Extremely Acceptable as evaluated by the experts and end users in terms of design, functionality and usefulness; the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference on the evaluation made by the two groups of respondents was accepted. Based on the findings and conclusions, the recommendations were herby offered: additional battery should be installed in parallel to produce make the output more efficient, and reliable; additional Solar Panel should be installed on opposite direction to support the existing panel; and further studies should be conducted to improve this study; the case can be improve using fiber glass to enhance its capability against rain water; additional provision for digital timer display should be included in the design to enhance its applicability; Provision for AC power source should be added to enhance the capability of the device.
