Thesis (Bachelor of Technology major in Electrical Technology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to Develop Door Lock Security System Using Biometrics. It was conducted at University of Rizal System, Morong during School Year 2016-2017. The device was constructed out of locally available materials. There were forty (40) respondents, ten (10) Professors in Electrical Technology as experts and forty (40) fourth year students from Bachelor of Technology students as end users. It was evaluated in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, and functionality. The data gathered in the study were statistically treated using qualitative description, weighted mean, and T-test. The Developed Door Lock Security System using Biometrics was tested for operation where troubles were observed and revised. Through try-out and revisions made the project reached the functional output and attained the project objectives. In terms of usefulness, mean of 4.8 then followed by items 2,3 and 5 with weighted mean of 4.7 and last is item 4 with a weighted mean of 4.6 and all items were verbally interpreted as extremely accepted. In terms of safety and maintenance, as evaluated by the experts, it achieved a verbal interpretation of Extremely Accepted having a computed weighted mean of 4.7, followed by item 3 with weighted mean of 4.6 next is item 2 with weighted mean of 4.5 and, lastly is item 5 with the weighted mean of 4.3 and all items are verbally interpreted an Extremely Accepted. In terms of functionality, as evaluated by the experts, got mean of 4.9, then, followed by item 2 with weighted mean of 4.8 and lastly are items 3, 4, & 5 with weighted mean of 4.6 and all items are verbally interpreted as Extremely Accepted. The null hypothesis stated that there is no significant difference on the evaluation made by the experts and end users on the acceptability of the Developed Door Lock Security System Using Biometrics in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance and functionality is accepted, therefore not significant. It was concluded that there is no significant difference on the evaluation make by two groups of respondents as the acceptability of the Developed Door Lock Security System Using Biometrics, this you're the null hypothesis is accepted. Based on the findings and conclusions, the following recommendations stated that the Utilization of the developed device and provision for mass production should be suggested A User's Guide/Operation Manual Should be made for easy of the end-users and lastly the device should be remodeled in the future through a parallel study.
